Hello lovelies!
Chanel has always been synonymous with class and style. This year Karl Lagerfield decided to take Chanel on another whimsical trip … destination Bombay. For those of you who don’t know me, I have a passion for India and a love of Chanel! Karl Lagerfield has outdone himself once again for the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 Paris Bombay Collection transforming the Grand Palais into a feast for the eyes and senses.
The room was lined with long winding banquet tables adorned with multi-tiered platters laden with crystals, pale coloured fruit, flowers, pastries and sweets. The centre table also had a miniature train lugging around a flask of gold coloured liquid.
Karl wanted to put a modern touch to his British chic-Indian influenced collection which featured long loosely draped layers of flowing detailed fabrics in a pale unaggressive pallet with a few pops of colour. There was also lots of embroidery and jewels (bangles, headpieces, etc) and shimmering velvety legging type pants.
There are so many beautiful pieces, it was so hard to choose but here are some of my favorites from his collection …
Traditionally influenced long tunic and pants (beautiful embroidery!)
Embellished tunic with shimmering leggings (such detail)
Notched-collar blazer with embellishment and satin turban
Here’s a short clip from the collection, the full version of the show can be found on YouTube.
